Evidence shows that managing authorities struggle to feed evaluation findings into programming, resulting in policy decisions that do not take into account the evidence from past and ongoing investments. To gauge this problem, programmes can embed experimental designs and other types of adaptive learning to maximise policy learning and enhance their focus and effectiveness. Building on the proposed performance regulation for 2028-2034, this interactive workshop will shed some light on adaptive learning and experimental designs in investment programmes. Views from international experts and managing authorities undertaking experimental designs will provide practical advice.
