Alexandra Avdeenko

  • Alexandra Avdeenko is an Economist specializing in experimental impact evaluation and private sector development within the Finance, Competitiveness, and Investment Global Practice at the World Bank. She is a Research Affiliate at the Center for Economic Policy Research and the J-PAL network. Previously, Dr. Avdeenko worked as a researcher at the German Institute for Economic Research and the University of Mannheim and served as Research Director at the Center for Evaluation and Development as well as a Professor at the University of Applied Labour Studies. At the World Bank’s strategic cooperation with the European Commission's DG REGIO and DG GROWTH on experimental evaluations, where she is also active as a researcher across multiple projects and Member States. Moreover, she actively contributes to the World Bank’s work on the development of Ukraine’s private sector, supporting the World Bank’s analytical work and lending operations.
