European Week of Regions and Cities

High Level Session - Making the Right to Stay a Reality: Opportunities for our Communities and our Prosperity

In this high-level session, EVP Raffaele Fitto will be joined by key stakeholders to explore how remote and rural areas, islands, coastal areas, mountainous and border regions, and small towns can create the conditions that enable people, particularly youth, to live, work and build their future in their communities. The session will examine challenges linked to depopulation, demographic decline, limited access to services and employment opportunities. It will look at how the EU, national governments and local authorities can work together to strengthen the attractiveness and long-term vitality of territories, supporting quality jobs, housing, education, healthcare and connectivity.
