- Szilvia Kalman is Deputy Head of the “Cities, Communities, People” Unit in the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy (DG REGIO), in charge of the preparation of the Right to Stay Strategy. She previously worked in the Directorates-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture (DG EAC) and for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion (DG EMPL). Her work has covered employment, social, education and youth policies, the European Semester, the Recovery and Resilience Facility, and the legislative framework for the European Social Fund in previous programming periods. Before joining the Commission in 2005, she worked on regional and territorial development in Hungary during the country’s preparations for EU accession.
