Across Europe, small and peripheral places are increasingly recognised as key to achieving balanced territorial development and the overall prosperity of Europe, yet they continue to face structural challenges linked to demographic change and economic restructuring. There is growing awareness of their untapped potential as 'opportunity spaces' for innovation, resilience and sustainable development. The workshop aims to address the need for knowledge on how local assets, social innovation and community agency can contribute to inclusive growth. The workshop will contribute to a better understanding of what constitutes success and development for small places and the right to stay.
