Small Places Matter and the Right to Stay - New Perspectives

Across Europe, small and peripheral places are increasingly recognised as key actors to achieving balanced territorial development and overall prosperity of Europe, yet they continue to face structural challenges linked to demographic change and economic restructuring. There is growing awareness of their untapped potential as “opportunity spaces” for innovation, resilience, and sustainable development. The workshop is meant to address the need for knowledge on how local assets, social innovation, and community agency can contribute to inclusive growth. The workshop shall contribute to a better understanding of what constitutes success and development for small places and the right to stay.
