- Matteo Biffoni has been Mayor of Prato since May 2026, having previously led the city from 2014 to 2024. A lawyer by training and a long-standing public administrator, he has also served as President of the Province of Prato, Member of the Italian Parliament, President of ANCI Toscana, and National ANCI Delegate for Immigration Policies.
Widely recognized for his strong local roots and collaborative leadership style, Biffoni has played a key role in promoting social cohesion, urban innovation, sustainable development, and the competitiveness of Prato’s textile district. Re-elected in 2026 with broad cross-party support, he is committed to advancing the circular and digital transition of Prato’s textile district, fostering environmental sustainability and community well-being, while strengthening the city's position within European and international cooperation networks.
