- Stéphane Blanchet is a French politician, currently the mayor of Sevran (Seine-Saint-Denis) and vice-president of the Seine-Saint-Denis Departmental Council with responsibility for local autonomy policies. Born in February 1970 in Aulnay-sous-Bois, Stéphane Blanchet grew up in the Department of Seine-Saint-Denis. A senior official in local government, he served as first deputy mayor of Sevran before becoming mayor in 2018, following the resignation of Stéphane Gatignon. He was elected in 2020 and re-elected in 2026 as part of a broad coalition uniting left-wing and green forces. In 2021, he was elected to the Seine-Saint-Denis Departmental Council and became its Vice-President in charge of local autonomy policies alongside President Stéphane Troussel.
