From Decline to Resilience: Demographic Challenges and Policy Responses in Eastern Border Regions

Regions located along the EU’s eastern borders face distinct challenges linked to their location. In a rapidly changing global context, these areas are often at the forefront of emerging challenges. Regional and local authorities there work hard to ensure stability and secure their citizens’ right to stay, live, work, and thrive in these areas, as people are the key asset for resilience. This session will explore challenges, opportunities and policy measures aimed at addressing demographic decline by improving infrastructure, access to services, and quality of life. A Regional Alliance of Eastern Border Regions will also be presented. A dedicated Q&A session will be held for the audience.
