Regions located along the EU’s Eastern borders face distinct challenges linked to their location. In a rapidly changing global context, these areas are often at the forefront of emerging challenges. Regional & Local authorities work intensively to ensure stability and secure their citizens’ “right to stay”, live, work, and thrive in these areas as people are the key asset for resilience. This session will explore challenges, opportunities, and policy measures aimed at addressing demographic decline by improving access to services, infrastructure, and quality of life. A Regional Alliance of Eastern Border Regions will also be presented. A dedicated Q&A session will be held for the audience.
