Energy Efficiency First Principle in practice: applications on energy local strategies

The application of the energy efficiency 1st principle has been reinforced by Dir2023/1791, requiring its application on planning and energy policy. ENEA supports the development and implementation of energy strategies at national and local levels, and acts as the Italian coordinator of the Covenant of Mayors. ENEA will explain to policymakers the innovative tools implemented and tested within the EU SEED MICAT and ENEFIRST+ projects and their pilot cases focused on Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plans. Participants would have the opportunity to integrate the principle into their energy strategies and assess their multiple benefits.
