Space data and services are proving to be increasingly useful for supporting urban development and resilience. The European Space Agency's Stakeholder Engagement Facility (SEF) works with public authorities, particularly cities and city networks, to support the uptake of satellite Earth observation tools. Satellite imagery and other data can help to identify urban heat islands, flood-prone areas, solar energy potential, the impacts of urban greening, and much more. These solutions enable local authorities to better measure and implement climate-proofing and resilience adaptations in their cities, alongside providing efficiency gains in traditional urban development uses.
