- Maarten Offinga (1963) has served as Mayor of the Municipality of Hardenberg since 2020 and was reappointed for a second term in 2026. Prior to his mayoral appointment, he served as Alderman of the Municipality of Súdwest-Fryslân and held executive leadership positions in the water technology and environmental sectors. Alongside his role as Mayor, he serves on the boards of several regional and cross-border organisations, including EUREGIO, Veiligheidsregio IJsselland and Regio Zwolle. He also chairs the Omgevingsdienst IJsselland. His expertise covers regional cooperation, public governance, environmental policy, public safety, infrastructure and cross-border collaboration. Known for his collaborative leadership style, Maarten Offinga is committed to building partnerships, connecting organisations and creating public value through effective regional and international cooperation.
