In times of war, culture becomes both a target and a powerful form of resistance. Cultural heritage faces threats from looting, illicit trafficking and the disruption of artistic life, while institutions and individuals work to protect and sustain it. This seminar brings together experts engaged in these efforts, with a particular focus on Ukraine. It will examine how international cooperation, museum networks and cultural authorities are working to safeguard heritage at risk, while highlighting how filmmakers and cultural actors continue to create under extreme conditions, supported by residencies and cross-border collaboration.
