Co-organised by EERA Joint Programme Smart Cities and ENEA within the EURegionsWeek “Close to You” programme, the event will bring together representatives from the European Commission, European city and regional networks, and the research community for an interactive dialogue on strengthening the capacities of European cities and regions. Through two thematic sessions combining fireside-style discussions and an interactive roundtable to discuss possible outcomes and collaboration possibilites, the event will explore how knowledge, integrated solutions and strategic partnerships can bridge the gap between research and implementation and translate European objectives into concrete territorial action. Particular attention will be given to urban resilience and decarbonisation, territorial competitiveness, inclusiveness and community well-being, as well as to the enabling conditions needed to replicate and scale effective models of science-policy-stakeholder collaboration across European cities and regions. Bringing together perspectives from organisations including the European Commission, Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate & Energy, EURADA, Eurocities, the Brussels-Capital Region and the Rome Smart City Lab, the event aims to identify shared priorities, transferable approaches and opportunities for new collaborations.
