European Week of Regions and Cities

Cross-border regions collaborating for a stronger Europe

Four territories lead by Navarre will present their models and strategies on cross-border cooperation. Navarre is a region that shares a 170km-wide border with France and has a historical record of commitment to cross-border cooperation. In this respect, amongst others, we are working to achieve in 2027 the Atlantic Macro-region. This is reflected in Navarre's participation in several cross-border mechanisms, namely: agreement with the French Department of Pyrenees-Atlantiques; or with Nouvelle-Aquitaine and Basque Country (Euroregion); and the CTP (Spanish-French Pyrenees). In this session, we will also engage with officials of DG Regio and the CBC intergroup of the Committee of Regions.
