When its SMEs innovate, Europe is stronger, more competitive and more resistant to disruption and economic uncertainty. Innovation drives shorter, more resilient supply chains and buffers the effect of external shocks. SMEs often skip R&I or cohesion policy initiatives intended to support their growth—but smarter policies can reverse this marginalization. Experts from 2 Interreg Europe projects will share practical approaches to promoting greater SME involvement. Drawing on insights from across Europe, the discussion will spotlight inclusive, evidence-based policies that close the participation gap, reinforce territorial cohesion, and create the conditions for SMEs to truly thrive.
