European Week of Regions and Cities

The kick-off meeting is approaching fast!

The European Week of Regions and Cities will celebrate its 24th edition from 12 to 14 October 2026 in Brussels, under the motto “Strong regions, strong Europe”.

This year’s European Week of Regions and Cities will once again be an important opportunity to exchange ideas, grow partnerships and share experience on how cohesion policy can help every region succeed. Because when our regions are strong, Europe is strong.

The event will address emerging political priorities and discuss how cohesion policy can evolve, while emphasising its long-term positive impact and its place-based approach.

The EURegionsWeek 2026 will include the opening ceremony in the European Parliament hemicycle, the REGIOSTARS pitches and Awards ceremony celebrating outstanding projects from EU regions, the Megalizzi-Niedzielski prize honouring young aspiring journalists and the high-level thematic sessions featuring politically prominent speakers. Participants will have the opportunity to discover an exhibition, regional tastings and many networking opportunities.

In addition to the sessions in Brussels on 12-15 October, the “Close to you” programme will be organised by partners all over Europe from 12 October to 20 December.
