- Sara Bianchi is a Territorial Development and EU Projects Officer at the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of Teruel (Spain). In this role, she combines her international background with practical work on European cooperation projects focused on rural development and demographic challenges. After obtaining her degree in Political Science and International Relations from the University of Pavia, she has spent the past 12 years working in Teruel, supporting initiatives that make rural territories more competitive and attractive. Based in one of Spain's most sparsely populated provinces, the Teruel Chamber of Commerce works to identify and promote practical solutions for local communities. One of its main initiatives is the Rural Multiservice (MSR) model, created to ensure that small villages can continue to access essential services. Each MSR brings together services such as a grocery shop, bar, restaurant, and other community facilities in a single location, helping to improve residents' quality of life and strengthen local communities. One of these Rural Multiservices is located in Azaila, and Teruel Chamber uses it as an example of good practice. Azaila MSR received the prize of “Best Rural Multiservice of Aragón” in 2025. In this village, with fewer than 100 residents during winter, an unused public building was transformed into a grocery shop, bar, restaurant, and digital access point, guaranteeing essential services while also providing an important meeting place for the community.
