- For the past three years, I have worked in the field of spatial planning in an international context. With an academic background in Business Administration and International Relations, I currently serve at the Dutch Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations.
The Netherlands faces the challenge of accommodating many competing demands within a limited amount of space. Issues such as housing, climate adaptation, energy transition, mobility, and nature conservation all converge in the physical living environment. To address these challenges, we promote integrated spatial decision-making by strengthening coherence across sectoral policies.
In addition, the Netherlands led a pilot action under the Territorial Agenda 2030 framework, focusing on the application and effectiveness of Territorial Impact Assessments in the drafting and implementation of EU legislation. The findings and outcomes of this work are available on the Territorial Agenda 2030 website.
