- Tom currently serves as Deputy Head of the European Commission Representation in Belgium. Before he worked in various policy domains in the European institutions, dealing with strategy and communication on regional and health policies, civil protection and humanitarian aid. Prior to joining the EU in 2011, Tom worked as an advisor to the Government of Flanders and spent almost a decade as Head of Communications at Ghent University. He studied social sciences, media studies and business communication at the Universities of Ghent and Barcelona.
