- Professor John Bachtler is Emeritus Professor of European Policy Studies and a Director of the European Policies Research Centre at the University of Strathclyde. A leading authority on EU Cohesion Policy, his research spans regional and industrial development, structural funds, EU integration and policy evaluation. He has advised numerous governments across Europe as well as the European Parliament, European Commission, Committee of the Regions, and the OECD, and has served as Expert Adviser to ten EU Presidencies on budgetary and policy reform. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh and the UK Academy of Social Sciences.
