European Week of Regions and Cities

Abruzzo and Europe’s Inner Areas New Strategies for Territorial Attractiveness and Resilience

From places of identity to new hubs for development: Abruzzo is reshaping its inner areas. Through an engaging and participatory dialogue, the event will discuss an integrated investment strategy aimed at transforming Cohesion Policy funds into a powerful driver of territorial attractiveness and resilience. Abruzzo is building a dynamic ecosystem that provides businesses with fertile ground for innovation and creates opportunities for highly skilled talent to build their future in their territories of origin, promoting youth retention and active community involvement. Designed as an open debate, the event will provide a platform for exchange among citizens, local stakeholders, and international partners. By fostering a lively dialogue, we aim to identify shared challenges and new pathways for competitiveness, innovation, and sustainable development across Europe’s inner areas. The open debate will involve high-level policymakers, including Abruzzo Region President Marco Marsilio, OECD, LSE and Formez PA experts, local authorities such as Pierluigi Biondi (President of ANCI Abruzzo), and businesses (Amazon), interacting directly with the audience.
