Clean seas, oceans and lakes: Governance around water bodies

This event will bring together the latest efforts in protcting our seas, oceans, lakes and inland waters, including those being manifested European projects, regional and local authorities, and individual practicioners demonsrating approaches to the challenges and risks of increased pollution and environmental degradation. Combining novel governance models, strategies and roadmaps for protection and safeguarding of our waters through waste prevention, sustainable resource management, rethinking processes and operations in tourism, sports and other fields of economic activity, the event wants to cross-check these efforts, seek collaboration between various stakeholders along value chains and build upon existing examples of good practices and success stories, with the ultimate objective to to find ways to further contribute to the bigger picture - clean European waters that all can benefit from. Speakers will include representatives from various European coastal regions, in different capacities, from NGOs, to governments and agencies, including Catalonia, County Mayo, Piedmont region, and Emilia Romagna among others, as well as leading organisations in implementing European projects and international activities, and coordinating European platforms .
