Inner and mountain areas are often associated with depopulation, demographic decline and limited opportunities for younger generations. Yet this is only part of the picture. These territories can also offer significant professional, entrepreneurial and social opportunities, provided that the right conditions are created and that such opportunities are made visible and accessible. The initiative aims to engage young people in a discussion on this apparent paradox: territories that are losing population while at the same time offering largely untapped potential. The challenge is not to persuade young people to stay, but to create the conditions for them to choose these areas as places where they can live, work and build their future. The session will highlight the role of institutions in strengthening territorial attractiveness and in creating a continuous dialogue among young people, schools, businesses, professionals and local communities, presenting concrete experiences and pilot actions. How inner and mountain areas can become more attractive to younger generations by improving access to professional opportunities, skills, information and local networks.Particular attention will be given to the role of local and regional institutions in connecting young people with schools, businesses, professionals and communities.
